Windows 2000 has a complete help system, and its help files are copied to the installation directory during the installation of Windows 2000. 1.4.1 Lookup Directory

For users who are using Windows 2000, the most common way to get help is on the desktop, select Start Help, and open the Windows Run Server window as shown in Figure 1-1 7, which consists of the contents, index, search, and bookmarks four tabs , which determines how users get to see the Help files.

1.4.2 Using Indexes

After you select the Index tab of the Windows 2000 Help window, open the index tabs as shown in Figure 1-1 8. In the type keywords to find text box, enter a keyword to find information, and help information that is heading to the keyword will gradually appear in the list box, select options in the list box, and then click the Show button to see a Help topic on the right side of the window.

1.4.4 Use bookmarks

Bookmarks are a means of locating information, and adding bookmarks to some important help information makes it easier to read the content multiple times. After you select the Bookmarks tab of the Windows 2000 Help window, open the Bookmarks tab as shown in Figure 1-2 0. After you select a bookmark in the Subject list box, click the Show button and the Help information for the bookmark location appears in the right pane. When you click the Delete button, the selected bookmark is removed from the subject list box.

1.4.5 access to the Web

Although the Help file for Windows 2000 is comprehensive, it will be something that is ready-made and does not reflect Windows 2000 information about new features and technical support that will require access to Microsoft's Web site. After you select the Web Help button for the Windows 2000 Assistance window, if the user's computer is connected to the Internet, the Microsoft Company's Windows 2000 site on the Web is opened in the browser window.
