How do I use the fingerprint recognition feature built into Windows 7?

With the increasing emphasis on the security of computer information, the configuration of a strong password for the Windows account has almost become a standard configuration for each user, but complex and lengthy password strings are often difficult to remember, the situation of a forgotten password will seriously affect the user experience of the computer. The gradual popularization of fingerprint identification technology provides a new way for user account password management, and the computer automatically logs in to the corresponding user account by scanning the user's fingerprint. The Windows 7 operating system provides built-in support for fingerprint identification devices that enable you to implement biometric management of user accounts through Windows 7 built-in functionality without having to install a third-party application for the fingerprint reader.

Operation Steps:

This article takes the AuthenTec AES1610 type fingerprint recognizer as an example, other models are similar to this operation. To use the fingerprint recognition feature:

(If your computer has a fingerprint-aware device driver installed, skip step 1-3).

Click Start, All Programs, Windows update, click Check Update button. As shown in the following photos

Select the detected fingerprint identification device driver and click the Install Update button. As shown in the following photos

Refer to the ScreenTip and you will need to restart your computer after the fingerprint Identification device driver is installed.

After the computer restarts, click Start, Control Panel, hardware and sound, biometric devices. As shown in the following figure

Click Manage fingerprint data. As shown in the following figure

Click the finger icon you want to set, and enter the Windows account password. As shown in the following figure

Scan your finger on the fingerprint reader for fingerprint information based on the screen tip information. As shown in the following figure

After the fingerprint scan is complete, log off the computer and log on to Windows by scanning the fingerprint.
