After configuring the WAN port of the router for PPPoE dial-up, if the network cannot be accessed, log on to the management interface of the router and click   Running status> WAN Port statusIf the WAN port is in the connection status, the connection fails. As shown in the following figure:
See Symptom 1Troubleshoot.
If the WAN port has an IP address but cannot access the network, as shown in the following figure:
See Symptom 2Troubleshoot.
Broadband lines(Household network cable or network cable from the "cat") need to be connected to the WAN port of the router, the wired computer is connected to any LAN port, and observe and confirm that the indicator is normal, as shown in the figure below:
Line connection diagram
Led location map
Note:The indicators of some routers are in the upper left corner of the network interface.
If the connection is correct but the WAN port indicator is not on, check whether there is poor contact with the WAN port wiring and try to change the network cable connecting the WAN port.
On the vro management page, click Running status  > WAN Port statusIf the WAN port does not obtain the IP address Dialing failed  Please click View Help, Troubleshooting according to the help content prompt. See the following table.
Note:Some routers do not have this prompt. Do not troubleshoot this step.
Connect the computer that previously connected to the broadband network to the LAN port of the router (you must use a wired connection) and log on to the management interface of the router.
Select Network Parameters  > MAC Address clone, Click Clone MAC Address. When MAC Address  And Current management PC Of MAC Address  Click Save  And Restart a vro. As shown in the following figure:
Check whether the WAN port can successfully obtain the IP address after the router is restarted.
If the problem persists after performing the preceding troubleshooting, log on to the vro management page and select System Tools > System logs, Click Save all logsSave the log to the desktop, as shown in the following figure:
Send system logs to fae@tp-link.com.cn for support, or call 400-8863-400 for technical support.
The computer must be set to automatically obtain the IP address. If you do not know how to set the IP address, click to refer:
If the computer has automatically obtained the IP address but the obtained IP address is 169.254.x.x Local connection  Or Wireless connection  Disable and then enable it.
Router Parental control, Internet access control(Some routers are Firewall settings) Function can restrict the Internet access permissions of intranet computers. Set this function as needed. If not necessary, you can disable this function. The setting method is as follows:
1 Disable parental control
Log on to the vro management page and click Parental control  On the Settings page, select Disable  And Save. As shown in the following figure:
2 Disable Internet access control
In Security Settings  >   Internet access control  , Confirm not to check Enable internet access control, Click Save. As shown in the following figure:
After completing this operation, you can try to open the web page to test the Internet access.
Check the browser settings as follows:
Disable dial-up connection:Open IE browser and click Tools  > Internet Option, Select Connection  >   Never make a dial-up connection.
Disable network proxy:Click   Tools  > Internet Option, Select Connection  >   LAN settings, Make sure that none of the three options are selected, and click OK.
After setting, try to access the Internet in the browser.
Try again after changing the browser (using Firefox, Firefox, Google/Chrome, or other browsers). If you still cannot access the internet, try replacing the computer for comparison testing.

The computer is connected directly to the broadband network for serial numbers. If the serial numbers cannot be obtained, contact the broadband carrier to solve the line problem.

Why PPPOE dial-up cannot view Internet logs

1. The WAN port IP address cannot be obtained.

If you cannot obtain the IP address of the WAN port after configuring PPPOE dialing, you can enter the management interface ?? System Tools ?? System Log. If the log you see is a password verification failure.
As described in the log, "password verification failed" may be caused:
2. Account error
Make sure that the user name and password are correct. Note that uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, such as "0" and "o", suffixes such as "@ adsl" and "@ 163" are missing. gd. You can try to enter this account on a single machine to confirm whether the account can be properly dialed or contacted by ISP to confirm the correctness of the account.
3. The ISP is bound to the MAC address of the computer Nic.
Some ISPs bind the physical address (MAC address) of the user's computer Nic to the user when installing the broadband service. Only the bound computer can access the Internet through PPPOE dial-up, no other computer or router can dial.
On the router, the solution to this problem is: use a single computer that can dial up to access the Internet to manage the router, enter the router management interface & rarr; network parameters & rarr; MAC address clone, clone the MAC address of the NIC of the bound computer (single-host dial-up computer) to the vro, as shown in the following figure:
4. Non-standard PPPoE is used for user access: for example, Starsky's fast software or broadband in my world.
In addition to the above password verification failure, the log you see may also be shown in the following figure:
The log shows that the PPPOE dial-up request sent by the vro does not respond. The possible causes include:
1. Physical link failure, including line connection errors, physical port damage, network cable not plugged in, network cable quality problems, MODEM not synchronized successfully, and MODEM failure, check whether the connection is correct (for example, if you forget the wiring). The MODEM line is connected to the WAN port of the router (for example, the MODEM line is mistakenly connected to the LAN port of the router) is the LAN indicator light of the corresponding indicator MODEM and the WAN port indicator light of the router on? Is the DSL lamp of MODEM always on? First, we recommend that you dial a single machine to see if the internet can be accessed normally? If you can, connect the line again. When the physical link is connected normally, try dialing again.
2. The previous abnormal disconnection, such as a sudden power failure to the MODEM or vro during the normal Internet access, is an abnormal disconnection. The client is disconnected, but the server did not find it at this time, if you dial again, it takes several minutes to complete the dial. The waiting time varies depending on the local line status, generally 3-5 minutes. The following figure shows the dialing log after an unusual disconnection:
When the log shown in the preceding figure is displayed, you only need to set automatic dial-up for the vro. After a while, the automatic dial-up is successful.
5. Disconnection during Internet access
If you have already dial up successfully and your computer can access the internet normally, but a disconnection suddenly occurs during the Internet access, log on to the management interface of the vro. If the log you see is the log shown in the following figure, the reason is that the front-end line is disconnected, which may be caused by loose network connection interfaces, MODEM faults, and line faults. When this log appears, check whether your router software is up to date? If not, upgrade first. If yes, check whether the line is connected and restart the MODEM? In other cases, the connection mode is set to on-demand connection, and the default connection mode of our broadband router is on-demand connection. In this mode, if the user under the vro does not have any network applications, the network will be automatically disconnected after a period of time (15 minutes by default, the prompt log is "automatic disconnection due to no data request", but it will not be a sudden disconnection during normal Internet access, it will only wait for a while after no network application, in addition, when there is a new network connection, the router will automatically connect to the network. For the user, the disconnection process is basically invisible. For monthly subscription broadband services, it is recommended to set automatic connection; for other methods, it is recommended to set manual connection.

6. Another disconnection log is "accept PADT, and the server requests to disconnect this connection ".
Each system log of a vro consists of a number and content. The front part of the log is the time parameter for running after the vro is started. The unit is second (s ), the time for receiving PADT can be recorded successively as X, and the closest log prior to this log shows the time for successfully obtaining IP addresses as Y, (X-Y)/3600 to determine how long it took to disconnect. Generally, 24 (86400 s) or 48 (172800 s) hours are automatically disconnected, and then the dial-up is automatically performed. In figure 7, the users are, this is because the IP address lease period of the dynamic IP address obtained by the ISP after an account is authenticated for 24 or 48 hours has reached the set time, the original IP address resources will be withdrawn, the re-allocation process is normal. When using a vro, you only need to set the connection mode to "automatic connection. As shown in the following figure:
