How to load Windows XP into memory and Windows XP into memory
The memory is rarely smaller than 2 GB, and there are many friends who configure 4 GB memory. With such a large memory capacity, we will never end up using computer operations. At present, the biggest bottleneck restricting the download performance of the system's XP system is the transmission speed of the hard disk. Therefore, here we will teach you how to load the XP system into the memory, and the performance will immediately kill the SSD.

Step 1: Install and streamline the XP System
First, restore the Windows XP system image in the GHO format that you have already backed up to the C drive, and then streamline the system as appropriate, for example, you can delete junk files, transfer the virtual memory to a drive D or another partition, and disable System sleep. The size of the simplified XP system should not exceed 1 GB.
Step 2: Install firadisk
First, download a modified "memory version XP". You can find it by using the search engine. The downloaded "memory version XP. RAR "decompress it to the root directory of the E drive and open the" firadisk "folder under the" E: Memory XP "directory. Then right-click" firadisk. inf, select "Install", complete the firadisk installation, and follow the prompts to restart the system; right-click the "my computer" icon on the desktop, and select "manage ", open the "System Tools> Device Manager" branch of ghost xp "Computer Management". In the displayed area on the right, you can see a device named "Firadisk Vitrual Disk Enumerator, this indicates that firadisk has been installed.
Step 3: Create and format the virtual partition file in IMG format
Run "VDM1.EXE" in the "E: Memory XP" directory "VDM ", on the main interface, click the "File> Create" command to bring up the "Create Image File" dialog box. Then, click the "Browse" button in the dialog box to create a file named "RamDiskXP. IMG image file and save it to the root directory of drive D. Then, confirm that the size of the image file is 1024 MB. Then, click OK, in the root directory of disk D, the system is created and a file named RamDiskXP is downloaded. IMG image file.
After completing the above operations, return to the VDM Virtual Drive main interface, click "File> load", load the created virtual disk file, and assign it a drive letter Z, finally, right-click the Z disk in the "my computer" window and select "format" to format it as the NTFS partition.
TIPS: we do not recommend that you modify the name and storage location of the image file in IMG format, in this way, you can avoid unexpected unknown errors during the preparation of the memory version XP.
Step 4: Modify the registry and boot. ini
Open the Registry Editor and navigate to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MacHINESYSTEM" branch. Then, delete the registry entry named "MountedDevices" under the Registry branch so that after logging on to XP for memory, the drive letter of the virtual disk is automatically changed to "C:", and then the system configuration file boot under the C root directory is opened. ini, add the statement "C: grldr =" grub4do menu "at the end of the file, and save the modifications made to the file.
Tip: by default, the file boot. ini has a read-only attribute. You need to remove the read-only attribute of the file before modifying it.
