After the user directory is changed, the system is restored again, resulting in the loss of the user's configuration file or the retention of the file as a backup. The user folder is still there, but the desktop environment is being prepared when you log on to the desktop. After you log on to the desktop, the original desktop disappears. The system prompts "use temporary configuration to log on", as shown in figure
At this time, you must not modify the registry or use some plausible methods on the Internet. Otherwise, your original user configurations and documents may be lost. Because at this time, the previous user data still exists, but the temp user data is used for Logon. If you are careful with the operation, you can change the original user environment.
Solution:
First, change the folder properties, deselect "Hide protected operating system files", and select "show hidden files, folders, and drives ", show all files and folders.
Then, go to the user directory, view your username directory, and then view the new temp directory. The temp directory contains many hidden files.
Ntuser. dat
Ntuser. dat. Log
Ntuser. ini
These hidden files are temporary logon configuration files. This is missing in the original user directory.
1. Switch the account to administrator. (If you have not modified the registry, you will be prompted to log on using the temporary configuration file)
2. Open the Registry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ profilelist. You can see
The following files are the SID of the user you are using, at this time we can see that there is a S-1-5......-500, S-1-5......-500. bak, S-1-5......-1000. bak, the previous one is the current user administrator, and the backup is in the middle of the Administrator (this is why the temporary configuration file logon is prompted when you log on with the Administrator, as long as you delete this option, there will be no such prompt, but if the changes you have made in administrator will not be retained ~ _~), The last step is your user account.
At this point, even if you remove the S-1-5......-1000. Bak after the. Bak is useless, because your configuration file in the user directory is corrupt or lost.
Therefore, there are two solutions to this problem.
1. Copy the original user configuration to the new temporary directory; 2. Copy the new temporary configuration to the original user directory.
Follow these two methods:
1. Microsoft Help and Support: error message: "user configuration file service logon failed. Unable to load user configuration file ", fix a too upted user profile when logging on to Windows 7 or Windows Vista
2. log on to Windows and copy your data to the new account: fix a temporary upted user profile
