Q:: My Computer Configuration is P4 2.4GHz CPU, 80GB hard disk, 1GB memory, installed 64-bit Windows XP, has not installed any applications, but the system disk space occupancy is up to 3.0GB this is why?
A: The memory capacity is 1GB, the problem is here. Since Windows 2000, the Windows system has adopted a paging file (called Virtual memory under Windows 98) to improve system performance. It sets a portion of the hard disk space to virtual memory, thereby expanding the computer's available "memory" space to meet the requirements of program operation. The paging file is at least 1.5 times times the size of physical memory. That is, only this file will occupy more than 1.5GB of the system disk space. The paging file cannot be manually deleted and can only be moved to other partitions. Right-click My Computer (My Computer) →properties (properties) →advanced (Advanced). Click Setting (Set) under Performance in the Open dialog box, and then click Advanced (Advanced) in the Open dialog box, and then click Virtual Memory to see the virtual memory settings interface. Move the Pagefile.sys file to the D disk and take effect after reboot. The Pagefile.sys file can be found in the D-packing directory. At the same time, C disk file will automatically disappear, C disk space occupancy restored to about 1.5GB.
