With the advent of Windows Vista, will the system players still want to play the dual system? You know, even in the vista environment, we can install the original MS-DOS.
In Vista, Microsoft introduced a new boot loader architecture, Windows Boot Manager (Bootmgr.exe). Vista's boot/boot process features fast and secure.
Windows Vista uses the new boot configuration data (BCD: Startup settings), and the Startup options Editing Tool BCDEdit (BCDEdit.exe) by using the Boot.ini management startup settings of the XP dual system. To manage startup settings. Therefore, in Windows Vista environment, you cannot simply modify the Boot.ini to manage the change startup option.
You can follow these steps to make a Vista and DOS dual system.
1, PQ partitions in the system before the installation of Pqmagic or partition manager, such as partition tools to establish a FAT32 under the DOS system partition and NTFS under the Vista system partition.
2, installation of Windows Vista system, CD installation will not be introduced here. Remember to set the installation partition to active property in Disk Management after Setup is complete
3, DOS installation, with bootable CD boot into DOS, confirm DOS Partition letter C:
Perform the format C:/s/q installation DOS environment.
4. Set DOS partition activity, activate DOS partition with Gdisk
5, into the DOS environment, our secret weapons into the c:toolgrub. Exe
6. Edit Config.sys
Example Config.sys
[Menu]
menuitm=dos,mosdos-71
Menuitem=vista,vista-enterprise
menudefault=dos,5
[DOS]
Dos=high,umb,auto
Device=c:driverhimen.sys
Device=c:driverd910v320.sys/d:cdrom
shell=command.com/p/e:1024
[Vista]
install=c:toolsgrub.exe-config-file= "root (hd0,0); Chainloader +1"
Note:
(hd0,0) refers to the first partition of the first hard disk, which refers to the Vista partition
Chainloader +1 is the boot process to the first sector of the partition you specify, that is, the location of the bootstrapper we boot through DOS, and then use the Grub.exe to mount the operating system to start the corresponding hard disk partition operating system.
