After using Windows 8 for a while, I found a problem. When the computer was locked, I went to the toilet or poured a glass of water to drink it. When I came back, the screen was closed. Microsoft did this to save energy, after you lock your computer, you may not need to use it. However, if you leave the computer for a short time, you must press a key or move the mouse to activate the screen each time.
In the settings related to the power supply, no relevant settings can be found to prolong the time for shutting down the screen after the computer is locked.
I searched for questions on Google but did not answer them.
Finally, I found a solution to the problem on a foreign website and modified the following registry values:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ power \ powersettings \ 7516b95f-f776-4464-8c53-06167f40cc99 \ Parameters]. Change the attributes value in this position to 2.
After you modify the registry, turn on "advanced power settings". Under "display", an additional "console lock display close timeout" item is displayed, as shown below:
The modification time is the time when the monitor is disabled after the computer is locked.
