  First, enable Remote Desktop for the target computer

Reminder: If the target computer is already set, or is not in its own controlled range, skip this paragraph and you can connect to the test directly.

1. Enable Remote Desktop on Windows XP

Right-click on the desktop on the "My Computer" icon, select "Properties", in the Properties window, click the "Remote" tab, the following figure:

Click "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer", the default administrator has this right, Remote Desktop login needs to enter the corresponding account and password, if you only want to allow a user remote access, you can add in the "remote user." Click OK when Setup is complete. The default port is 3389, after setting, Windows XP or Windows 2003 will default to add this rule to the firewall, but if you manually modify the Remote Desktop port, do not make sure that the port number in the firewall must be remembered to modify or add the license rules separately. Otherwise, remote computer connections may be blocked by Windows Firewall.

2. Windows 7 Remote Desktop features Open

This setup method also applies to Vista and Windows Server 2008, click on the "Start" menu-Control Panel-system and security-system, then click on the left side of the remote settings, as shown below:

To turn on Windows 7 Remote Desktop, there are three options, the first if you are not allowed to connect to this computer, select "Do not allow connecting to this machine", which prevents anyone from using Remote Desktop or RemoteApp to connect to your computer. The following two options, "Allow any version of Remote Desktop computer" and "Run only computers with remote desktops that use Network Level Authentication", differ as follows:

"Allow computer connections to run any version of Remote Desktop"-Select this if you are unsure of the computer operating system that will be connected. Security is lower than the third option.

"Only allow connections to computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication"-allows people to connect to your computer by using a remote desktop with network-level authentication or a REMOTEAPP version of the computer.
