When the goal that the shortcut points to is removed, how does Windows find the target being removed?

When a shortcut is created, Windows assigns several IDs to the target that the shortcut points to to identify the target.

These IDs, which are stored in the file system, include the object Identifier,birth object Identifier,birth volume identifier, and so on.

Object identifier may change when a file is moved, but birth object identifier and birth volume do not change, as their names are determined when the ID is first allocated, and Innate.

When a shortcut points to a target that is moved, Windows is determined by the birth object identifier.

To view the object identifier of a file, you can do so by using the following command, which is the object name for which you want to view the ID

fsutil objectid Query
