If the Windows 8 taskbar does not display the system's built-in soft pinyin input method, the input method cannot be switched.

Fault symptom:

In the Win8 system, the icon of the normal Micro-Soft pinyin input method displayed in the lower right corner of the taskbar is lost, and the input method cannot be switched using win + Space. The failure is shown in the following figure:

Solution:

1. Right-click the blank area of the taskbar and choose Properties. In the displayed "Taskbar properties" dialog box, click the "custom" button under the "taskbar" tab;

2. In the pop-up notification area icon window, click the "enable or disable system Icon" option in the lower left corner;

3. In the pop-up "system Icon" window, you can find the "Enter indication" option and change "off" to "enabled.

4. Now, the input method icon is displayed in the notification area.

Note:

After the above operations, it is found that the input method icon is not displayed in the notification area of the taskbar, but a placeholder for the input method icon is added, as shown in the figure below:

Open the C:/Windows/System32/LogFiles directory to check whether the Scm folder exists. If this folder is not available, create a new Scm folder and restart your computer.
