In Windows, how does one use telnet to manage virtual machines Linux and telnet virtual machines?

There are many Linux Remote logon tools, such as putty, SecureCRT ...... In fact, with the help of the Windows telnet tool, you can easily log on to the Linux system at a command prompt.

Although telnet is simple, some configuration is required. First, install the telnet service on Linux, and then enable the telent client on Windows. I use CentOS5.5 for Linux. I personally think it is a stable version.

1. Enable the telnet service in Linux. First check whether the telnet service is installed in Linux. If a telnet-server-0.17-39.e15 is displayed, it indicates that the telnet service has been installed in Linux. Otherwise, you must manually install the telnet-server.

 

Installing telnet requires a xinetd-2.3.14-10.e15.i386.rpm, A telnet-server-0.17-39.e15.rpm that comes with these two packages on the system disc, usingRpm-ivh package nameTo install.

Check the telnet running status and enable telent:

1) UseChkconfig telnet -- listView telnet running status

2) UseChkconfig telnet onEnable telnet Server

 

 

CentOS5.5 only opens 22 (SSH) port by default, while telnet uses port 23. To open the port, modify/etc/sysconfig/iptables and add-A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT-m state -- state NEW-m tcp-p tcp -- dport 23-j ACCEPTFinally, restart iptables,Service iptables restart (or directly restart system s)

2. Start the telnet client on Windows
