You may want to install Windows 7 Beta on netbooks, but netbooks typically do not have an optical drive, and you probably don't have an external drive for it, and you may be concerned about environmental protection and don't want to download the Windows 7 beta ISO dial; or you don't like the turtle speed and toss from the CD drive. Anyway, Windows 7 supports installing from USB removable hard disk or flash drive.
Required Equipment:
U disk, self-owned
Windows 7 Beta 1 installs the DVD ISO file, please go to the official download
Windows 7 Beta installation serial number, applying on download page
Prepare u disk (build boot partition):
Insert a U disk on a computer running Windows, open a command line with administrator privileges, and enter:
C:\>diskpart
DISKPART> list disk
辨别分配给你的U盘编号,这里假设是2
DISKPART> select disk 2 (注意你的编号可能不是2)
DISKPART> clean
DISKPART> create partition primary
DISKPART> select partition 1
DISKPART> active
DISKPART> format fs=fat32
DISKPART> assign
DISKPART> exit
Copy Windows 7 installation files to U disk
Undo, burn, or load your Windows 7 DVD somewhere, such as x:\, assuming your USB drive is Z:, and then:
C:\>xcopy x:\*.*/s/e/f z:\
Install from U disk
After the Xcopy is finished, plug the U disk into the computer to be installed and restart it. Use BIOS settings or press a hot key to select boot from U disk. Then follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
