Wine is a software that lets you run Windows programs on Linux. The latest version available wine 1.7.18 has recently been published. Improved support for OLE accessible objects, fixes for some memory problems, mshtml, and 80 bug fixes. Please refer to the Release notes for more information.
Also worth mentioning is that developers are making Windows applications that can be used on Android arm and x86 architectures, and they want wine to run on Chrome OS systems.
Install, because the PPA is available, the installation is very convenient, almost all versions of the Ubuntu system, open the terminal, enter the following command:
sudo add-apt-repository Ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine1.7 winetricks
Uninstall Wine 1.7.17 Command:
sudo apt-get remove wine1.7
To remove the PPA command:
sudo apt-get install Ppa-purge
sudo ppa-purge Ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
