The batch activation server for Windows Server 2012 has just been deployed, although the KMS server is simple to do, but I think it is necessary to leave a document, someone always use it.

In the Windows Server R2 the Volume Activation server, simply pour the slmgr.vbs into the Kms_host Key, and then activate it, very simple.

I didn't try this on Windows Server 2012 because I saw the role of "Volume Activation Service" in roles and features, just use what Microsoft has to offer.

First to understand our environment, I used an IBM x3550 to do the activation of the server, the server itself is to do DC, before the DC, I would like to install the KMS, as for the current installed DC reload kms, or KMS to join the domain (or do DC), from the installation process I see, not much relationship, Many configurations can be changed at a later stage.

Start the installation now

Step One: Install the "Volume Activation Services" role and select [Add roles and features] in [dashboard] in [Server Manager]. , select "Volume Activation Service" in the wizard and follow the wizard.

The second step, configure the KMS service, after installing the role, in the message you can see the configuration prompt, you can also select in the Management tool [Volume Activation tool] to configure.

Enter the IP or computer name of the service in Key Management Server (KMS), and if the service is in a domain, the system will select [Active Directory-based activation] by default

Input Kms_c class Key

Windows Server 2012 is not activated when prompted to activate the product, the KMS server itself activated, this activation is no time limit, Kms_host key activation number is not very clear, there are heard is 6 times. I use this number to activate the server, in order to capture the image, the virtual machine was activated again.

Here to the firewall exceptions are checked, otherwise the client is unable to connect to the server.

A Windows Server 2012 KMS server can activate systems such as Windows Server R2/2012/windows 7/windows 8. However, the KMS server has an activation count that cannot activate Windows Server at a count of less than 5 o'clock, and counting only the physical server, the virtual machine does not count, which is disgusting, but probably out of piracy consideration. Windows 7/windows 8 can be activated when the count is more than 25 times.

For anti-piracy and legal reasons, I'm afraid I can't release kms_host key, so let's not ask for it.
