Installation and Use of Hyper-V in Windows 8

Fault symptom:

Hyper-V is a software architecture and basic management tool for creating and managing virtualized server computing environments. It is similar to virtual machine software such as VMware and VirtualBox. This virtualized environment can be used to achieve a series of business goals on increasing efficiency and reducing costs. Hyper-V can reduce the cost of operating and maintaining physical servers by increasing hardware utilization. Hyper-V can reduce the hardware required to run server loads. By reducing the time required to install software and hardware and reproduce the test environment, the efficiency of development and testing is improved. Improve server availability, instead of having to use a physical computer for failover configuration as before.
For common users, it is not easy to use the software for testing. It is used to browse the web page even if it is infected with viruses and Trojans without worrying that the real system is infected.

Solution:

I. Preparations before installation

Hardware Requirements for Hyper-V installation.The CPU of the computer must support hardware-level virtual mode and be enabled. If you want to know whether your hardware configuration meets the requirements, you can directly download the following tool. After running the tool, it will automatically test whether the CPU supports hardware-level virtual mode.

That is, the Hardware configuralization option in the screenshot. (Display NO: not supported; display Yes: Supported; Locked ON (supported, BIOS has enabled this function); display Locked Off (indicating disabling virtualization technology in BIOS, however, it does not mean that the CPU supports virtualization technology. It may be because the CPU does not support this technology and is automatically disabled in the BIOS). Please go to the BIOS to set the related hardware virtualization (hardware virtualization) switch to try.

2. You only need to enable the function without downloading. Enabling Hyper-V is simple. Hyper-V is built into Windows 8. You do not need to download the installation file. You only need to select and enable it in Windows 8 program management.

Procedure:Control panel --- program --- enable or disable Windows function --- select Hyper-V --- restart your computer. After two automatic restart processes, Hyper-V has been deployed in Windows 8.

After the Hyper-V manager is enabled, you can see the connection between the Hyper-V manager and the Hyper-V virtual machine on the "Start screen". Click the Hyper-V manager to enable the Hyper-V management interface.

3. Connect to local servers and remote servers

The Hyper-V manager is successfully started. You can see a Hyper-V Server named by your computer in the left column of the Hyper-V manager. This is the local server, you can use the "Connect to server" function on the right to connect to a remote Hyper-V Server. If there is no local server, Hyper-V is not successfully installed or the related services are not enabled, and the CPU is not supported.

4. Create a VM with a wizard. Next we will create a local VM.

Specific steps: Select the local server. In the right column, the Operation Menu is displayed. --- New --- virtual machine.

A new virtual machine Wizard will guide you through creating a virtual machine. In the wizard, you can set the virtual machine name and storage location (including the virtual machine information and snapshot storage location, and select as many partitions as possible) the internal capacity and network parameters allocated to this virtual machine are virtual NICs, virtual hard disks, and operating system installation.

So far, the Win8 virtual machine has been installed, and the virtual system installation is similar to the virtual machine software installation of VMware and VirtualBox.
