According to the technology blog ZDNET, FireEye, a security company, said in a latest report that a zero-day attack vulnerability was found on IE browser in the English version of Windows XP and Windows 7 systems.
Hackers exploit this vulnerability to target Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, and Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP.According to the FireEye report, their analysis reports show that the vulnerability targets Microsoft IE 7, 8, 9 and IE10 browsers.
The FireEye report does not specify whether IE10 on Windows 8 or IE11 on any system has this vulnerability.
FireEye said the zero-day security vulnerability can cause two forms of attacks: privacy information disclosure and remote code execution by hackers. Security companies believe that the vulnerability appeared on Windows XP is not surprising, but it seems even more unusual for it to appear on Windows 7.
FireEye said it is working with Microsoft to address this vulnerability. The report also said that although Microsoft has not released any patches for the vulnerability,However, users can use Microsoft's EMET tool for enhanced disaster reduction experience to temporarily respond to risks..
