Configuration requirements for Rational Focal Point
To use the investment analysis component, first log in with the IBM Rational Focal point credentials.
Create a workspace within Rational Focal Point and name it investment Analyzer. You need to be a Global Administrator to create a workspace.
Attention:
This name and other subsequent names are only recommended by the author. You can choose any name that you prefer.
Once you have created the workspace, it is listed under my Workspaces in Rational Focal Point, as shown in Figure 1.

Create a module named Investment Analyzer Project.

Select Configure > Attribute> investment Analyzer Project, click Add attribute and select a Time Grid property. Name this property investment time Grid attribute.

In this time Grid property, add the worksheet (the spreadsheet). To use investment analysis, you need to add four worksheets. Name them high, likely, low, and Actual respectively.
Add a worksheet to store the upper bounds of the valuation for each period. Set the scenario Type to high.
Add a worksheet to store the possible valuations. Set the scenario Type to likely.
Add a worksheet to store the lower bound. Set the scenario Type to low.
Optionally, add a worksheet to store the actual values. Set the scenario Type to Actual.
Set the time Interval to quarterly, monthly, or yearly. For this example, time Interval is set to monthly.
Attention:
When the time Grid property is saved, time Interval cannot be changed.
Start date to end date is the time span included in the financial statement.
The time Grid property should resemble Figure 4.
