Let the WEB Server

In the process of informatization, many enterprises have built Web servers based on Microsoft IIS to carry their image propaganda, Information Publishing, product promotion, after-sales and customer service services. However, IIS is not very stable, and some inexplicable faults often occur. In addition, some default settings of IIS affect the performance of Web servers. These are easy to make the browser have doubts about the enterprise's management and technical capabilities, detrimental to the enterprise's image. Next, we will use some settings to make the Web server run more stably and smoothly, so we can "quickly increase the speed" for it ".

　　1. Cancel password verification window

Sometimes when you browse a website page, you will find that the IE browser will automatically pop up the password verification window, asking you to enter the webpage access account and password 1, sometimes you simply cannot open the home page of the website. In fact, you can set up the IIS server as follows to allow anonymous access to the website page: (figure 1)

Step 1: Click Start> Run. In the displayed system run dialog box, enter compmgmt. msc, click OK to open the computer management window of the system.

Step 2: Click System Management> local users and groups> users in the Computer Management window, in the subwindow on the right of the corresponding "user" folder, you can see accounts such as "IWAM_XX" and "IUSR_XX". The "IWAM_XX" account is used to start IIS server processes, the "IUSR_XX" account is the Guest account dedicated to accessing the Internet page. If the two accounts are not available, any user may see the password verification window when accessing the Internet page. Therefore, to remove this Authentication Window, you must start the "IWAM_XX" and "IUSR_XX" accounts respectively (XX indicates the name of the computer where the IIS server is located, for example, the author's server name is MAIL), of course, you can also enable this account in the command line, the command is as follows: (figure 2)

Net user IWAM_MAIL/active: yes Step 3: Click Start> program> Administrative Tools> Internet Service Manager, on the IIS server console, right-click the site name that cannot be accessed correctly on the page and run the "properties" command from the shortcut menu, click the "Directory Security" tab in the property settings window. Next, click the "edit" button in the anonymous access and Authentication Settings on the corresponding tab, open the Setting Dialog Box shown in 3, select the "Anonymous Access" option in the dialog box, and then click "OK" to access the problematic website page again in the future, the password verification window will no longer appear automatically. 　　2. Cancel the service failure prompt

If you are using the Windows 2003 Server Operating System, you may encounter such a fault when configuring the IIS server in the system, that is, when accessing a site page on the IIS server, the server continuously prompts you the error message "Service unavailable". 4. When you open the system log file, you can also find error messages similar to those that Cannot initialize the working process. In the face of such failures, how can you eliminate them? (Figure 4)

In fact, this fault phenomenon is mainly because of the http protocol pointing to the link storage directory, In the permission access settings are incorrect; for example, if the http://www.aaa.com address points to the main directory is aaa, once the access permission of the aaa directory is set to prohibit access by the "IWAM" account, the browser may prompt "Service unavailable". Therefore, to avoid this fault, you only need to perform the following operations:

Step 1: Click Start> program> Administrative Tools> Internet service manager. In the displayed IIS server console window, right-click the target server site and run the "properties" command from the shortcut menu.

Step 2: In the Web site property settings window that appears, click the "home directory" tab to bring up the tag page shown in 3. Check whether the "read" permission on the tab page is selected, if it does not exist, you must select it and click "OK" to cancel the error message of service unavailability. (Figure 5)

　　3. Enable the IIS server to support php scripts

Under normal circumstances, the IIS server can well support the normal operation of ASP scripts. However, many website pages now use the php script technology, by default, the IIS server cannot correctly identify the php script page. To ensure that the server can correctly run the php script, you must configure the runtime environment of the php script as follows:

Step 1: Download and unzip the php compressed package (here in the php-4.4.4-win32 for example) to e: php-4.4.4-Win32 directory, and then find a named php. ini-recommended file, rename it php. ini.

Step 2: open the file and find extension_dir = ". /", change it to extension_dir =" e: php-4.4.4-Win32extensions "; then find the session. save_path =/tmp and change it to session. save_path = e: php-4.4.4-Win32sessions. (Note: Now you need to create the sessions folder under e: php-4.4.4-Win32 directory to store the session .) (Figure 6)

Step 3: copy the modified php. ini file to the C: windows Directory, copy the php4ts. dll file in e: php-4.4.4-Win32 to the C: windowssystem32 directory.

Step 4: Open "Internet Service Manager", select the site that you want to support PHP, open the properties page, click the "ISAPI filter" tab, and click "add ", fill in php in the filter name in the pop-up Filter Properties window; fill in E: php-4.4.4-Win32php4ts.dll In executable files, and click OK. Step 5: click the "main directory" tab, select the "configuration" button in "application settings", and click "add" in the "Application configuration" window that appears, fill in E: php-4.4.4-Win32php4ts.dll In executable files in the pop-up Add/edit application extension ing window, fill in php with extension, and OK. 4. Let the IIS server correctly respond to ASP

Many Web designers use asp scripts to achieve the dynamic interaction of websites. However, when accessing these asp scripts in IE browsers, the server may fail to respond, how can you quickly eliminate this problem?

In fact, in this case, you first need to test whether the html page of the corresponding site can be correctly displayed in the IE browser. If not, it indicates that the server cannot respond to ASP faults, it is not caused by ASP problems, but by incorrect settings of the IIS server. In this case, you can follow the above steps to eliminate it;

If the html page in the same site can be accessed by a browser but the asp page cannot be accessed, it indicates that the IIS server cannot respond to ASP faults because of ASP problems; in this case, you must open the properties setting window of the IIS server, check whether the port used by the website is correct, and check whether the specific path of the database call is correct. If these aspects are normal, the ASP-related components in the server system are faulty. you can repair the ASP components as follows:

Step 1: Click Start> Run. In the displayed system run dialog box, enter the cmd string command and click OK, switches the operating status of the system to MS-DOS working mode.

Step 2: In the doscommand line, enter the "cd windowssystem32inetsrv" string command, click the Enter key, and then execute "rundll32 wamreg. dll, CreateIISPackage, and then execute "regsvr32 asptxn. dll command, iisreset command, and finally restart the computer operating system, so that the IIS server can correctly respond to the ASP script page again.
