Google will make an important upgrade to its Chrome Web store, which it plans to increase its support for multiple platforms including Windows, MAC, Linux, Android, iOS and Chrome OS, and help accelerate the expansion of Chrome OS and chrome apps. Previously, Google Chrome Web store only for Chrome and Chrome OS to provide application and plug-in support.
After Google has added multi-platform support to the Chrome Web Store, developers need to upload only one application or extension file to support the various platforms.
Google developer, observer Francois Beaufort first discovered the change in the Chrome Web Store, and he recently joined Google, mainly responsible for the propaganda work of chrome.
In his blog, Francois Beaufort the changes to the Chrome store as follows:
• Users uploading a zip file from the Chrome Web store will include specific platform resources for each platform.
· The Chrome Web store will generate a separate CRX file for each platform, and then provide the most appropriate one for your device. That means the user only needs to find the version they need.
• Obvious benefits: Save network bandwidth and disk space.
Google called the change "webstore multi-crx feature", which is supported by the current platform (Windows, Macs, Linux, Android, iOS) and Chrome OS. First of all, Google will support the desktop version of each system, and then continue to extend to the chrome and mobile platform.
Once the Google move is implemented, Google will allow developers to simultaneously create an application for all platforms, then upload to the Chrome Network store, to bring users a great convenience, users only need to target their own equipment for a purposeful download installation.
