Management of print servers under Windows (i)

A print server under Windows refers to a computer that has a printer installed and shares the printer with users on the network. The current market has many hardware print server products, users can directly through it to print files.

The following test actions are performed in a virtual machine environment:

One server dcsrv01,dc,windows server R2, connect three printers;

A client client01,windows7, joined to a domain.

First, set up a print server

There are two ways users can set up a print server:

1, directly on the computer to install the printer, and then share to network users, this computer acts as a print server;

2. Install the print server role on the server. The biggest benefit of this approach is the provision of a "print management" centralized management tool.

1. Direct Printer Installation

To install a printer by using devices and printers in Control Panel

2. Install the Print Service role

On the server, add the role:

Second, add the printer

Select a shared printer. Enter the share name below and you can enter the printer location so that users can find the printer by location.
