If you can't uninstall Chrome from the Windows Control Panel, follow these steps to manually remove it:
These instructions also involve modifying the Windows registry. If you are not accustomed to modifying the registry or are unfamiliar with how to modify the registry, consult a computer technician before you begin. You may also want to consider backing up the registry before you modify it.
- Ensure that the file extension is displayed. Here's how:
- Open Start menu > Control Panel .
- Double-click Folder Options .
- Click to view .
- Make sure that the Hide extensions for known file types check box is unchecked.

- Click Save Link as , and save the file name as Remove.reg. (Select all files as the file type.) )
- Quit Chrome completely.
- On the desktop, double-click Remove.reg.
- In the Configuration window, click Yes .
- Click confirm .
- Open Start menu > Run .
- Depending on your operating system, enter one of the following commands in the text field:
- Windows Xp:%userprofile%\local Settings\Application Data\google
- Windows Vista:%localappdata%\google
- Remove the Chrome folder from the Open directory.
Now, the Chrome browser should have finished uninstalling.
