MHP & gem Basics
1. DVB-MHP identifiers
MHP has a unique identifiers to identify applications.ProgramAnd MHP application provider. The following identifiers are valid:
(1) MHP Organization
(2) MHP Application Type
(3) mhpait Descriptor
(4) MHP Protocol
At present, the DVB Project Office is responsible for the registration of DVB (and MHP) identifiers.
DVB site see: http://www.dvb.org/products_registration/dvb_identifiers/
How to Apply identifier, see: http://www.dvb.org/products_registration/dvb_identifiers/
2. MHP-PKI
Responsible for MHP application security. DVB-MHP PKI (Public Key Infrastructure, Public Key Infrastructure) provides the backbone for applications and files that authorize verification broadcast to MHP receivers. This authorization process is designed to ensure that the application code is executed on devices connected to the broadcast network without being modified by the author after development, the application can only access restricted resource sets that have been authorized to access.
DVB-MHP PKI depends on the integrity of the certificate, which is used to authenticate the identity of the entity, and the entity is marked to the file tree of the application. The certificate of the highest level, the so-called "Root Certificate", is embedded into each MHP receiver by its manufacturer and used to identify the next level of certificate in the hierarchy. Authentication is a repetitive process until you encounter a leaf certificate and authenticate it. Therefore, the user can ensure that the application is not modified and the application only uses the desired resources.
DVB-MHP PKI is established and operated by wisekey SA, representing DVB business SARL.

For details about the broadcast marking engine, see http://sourceforge.net/projects/bse/. this is a Java-based tool for digital tagging mhpapplications.
3. MHP Patent Pool
According to the intellectual property rights (IPR) policy of DVB, members must agree with the IPR authorization of DVB standards, in accordance with fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory conditions. DVB also adopts a voluntary combination of systems to add authorized regions.
