On Thursday, an executive from Microsoft presented a series of new technologies, including the effect demonstration of World of Warcraft (regional data sheet) in the overall development environment of Microsoft Visual Studio. Scott Guthrie, General Manager of the Development Department, delivered a speech at the Scott Guthrie conference at Microsoft. However, it seems that the live World of Warcraft demonstration attracted the attention of the audience. Microsoft announced that it could allow its partners to use Visual Studio and Its Related Software Development kits to develop programs outside of Microsoft's platform.
World of Warcraft uses a programming language called "Lua. During the demonstration, developers used the familiar Visual Studio environment to encode the code into Lua, adding more depth to the game.
Guthrie joked after three unlucky enemies in the game were killed: "Visual Studio not only increases productivity for you, but also allows you to kill a series of enemies ."
