1 Origin of VoiceXML
VoiceXML (Voice Extensible Markup Language) is a new XMLschema used to develop the content for accessing the Web through Voice conversations and the delivery standard for Interactive Voice Response. From the application-oriented perspective, that is, developing the voice user interface. In March 1999, four companies, Motorola, Lucent, AT&T and IBM, jointly launched the VoiceXML Forum (http://www.VoiceXML.org/) to provide a convenient Internet access for telephone and mobile devices, methods for obtaining services and information. On April 9, March 2000, the VoiceXML Forum published the VoiceXML 1.0 standard. In May, W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) accepted VoiceXML1.0. W3C passed the VoiceXML2.0 standard again in March 17, 2004. Currently, with the rapid development of VoiveXml technology and voice technology, more than 150 companies at home and abroad have supported VoiceXML, and companies such as Motorola and Lucent have developed VoiceXML-based products. Voice technology not only allows those who cannot use graphical browsers due to environmental or physiological restrictions to access the Web, but also provides more convenient Web access functions for all users.
2 VoiceXML system architecture
Based on W3C industrial standard XML, VoiceXML2.0 (including 1.0) provides an intelligent API for developers, service providers, and equipment manufacturers of voice and telephone applications. The VoiceXML standard simplifies the creation of personalized interfaces with voice and sound services on the WEB, allowing people to access information and services on the website through voice and phone, and at the same time with CGI (PERL, PHP, c, java servlet, etc.) scripts are combined to retrieve the background database, access the enterprise intranet, and finally integrate the voice browser with the micro browser, the perfect combination of computer network and telephone technology. The specific system structure is as follows:
