Back in 2011, Microsoft formally acquired Skype.
Skype and Messenger will then be integrated, and Messenger will be able to contact their messenger friends on Skype. By updating to Skype services, Messenger users can immediately send instant messages and video calls to their messenger friends.
In the first quarter of 2013, Messenger services were discontinued in all countries of the world (except Mainland China, where we will continue to provide messenger services).
Once the Messenger user is updated to Skype, the following features and other features are available:
More extensive device support for all platforms, including ipad and Android tablets;
Instant messaging, video calling, and fixed-line and mobile call integration;
Shared screen;
Mobile Video Call;
Facebook friends Video Call;
Group video calls.
October 31, 2014 and Chinese users formally say goodbye. It is recommended that users migrate to Skype. Meanwhile, Microsoft said it would give users $2 in Skype charges as compensation.
