1 Follow the instructions, using one of the recommended platforms Cygwin
This version of SPHERE have been tested on the following platforms:
Mac OS X (10.6)
Linux (Ubuntu 11.04)
Cygwin (1.7 under Windows XP)
2 There are no dependent header files found cannot find. h specifically downloads gcc, with which GCC command to see what GCC is used, if it is BIN/GCC, then there is this error, if USR/BIN/GCC is not the error

OK ... seem to is a couple of problems here.
First, ' GCC ' appears in Both/bin And/usr/bin. (The directories is actually the same inode--presumably junctions). However, If/bin Precedes/usr/bin in the PATH, then I get the above error message. If/usr/bin, comes first, then it fails with a more understandable error:
/usr/lib/perl5/5.14/x86_64-cygwin-threads/core/reentr.h:109:26:fatal +error:crypt.h:no such file or directory # include <crypt.h> [DOWNLOAD]
This is fixed by installing Libcrypt-devel. Then everything worked just fine ... So problem solved!
3 with 64-bit Cygwin no, 32-bit Cygwin is required.
