PaaS (Platform as a Service) is a relatively hot topic in the industry. This article presents a concise approach to a technical solution for rapidly deploying a PAAs platform using open source software: The technology solution for deploying cloudfoundry based on the OpenStack platform.
1. OpenStack Introduction openstack was developed by NASA and Rackspace in collaboration with Apache Licensing and is a free software and open source project. openstack is a project managed by a cloud platform and it is not a software. The project consists of several major components that are combined to accomplish some specific work. openstack is an open source project designed to provide software for the construction and management of public and private clouds. Its community has more than 130 businesses and 1350 developers, both of which use OpenStack as a common front-end for infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) resources. The first task of the OpenStack project is to streamline the deployment of the cloud and bring it to a good scale. This article hopes to help you to set up and manage your own public or private cloud using the OpenStack front end by providing the necessary guidance information. 2. Cloudfoundry Introduction Cloud Foundry is an open source PAAs cloud platform launched by Pivotal Inc., which supports a broad range of frameworks, languages, runtime environments, cloud platforms, and application services, enabling developers to deploy and scale applications within seconds. No need to worry about any infrastructure issues. At the same time, it is a distributed system composed of a plurality of relatively independent subsystems through the message mechanism, so that the platform can be scaled horizontally at all levels, can run in large data center, and run on a desktop computer, both of which use the same code base. As a next-generation cloud application platform, Cloud Foundry is built for private cloud computing environments, enterprise-class data centers, and public cloud service providers. The Cloud foundry platform simplifies the development, delivery, and operation of modern applications, dramatically improving the ability of developers to deploy and run applications in a cloud environment in the face of multiple public and private cloud choices, industry-standard, efficient development frameworks, and application infrastructure services. Cloudfoundry currently cannot be installed directly on the physical server, the deployment Cloudfoundry must be installed with IaaS. Install Cloudfoundry documentation (http://docs.cloudfoundry.org), Cloudfoundry supports three IaaS platforms: Amazon Aws,openstack and VMware vsphere/ VCloud. Because AWS and Vsphere/vcloud are not available for free, this article describes how to deploy cloudFoundry to OpenStack on the open source IaaS.
