The project team needs to install Oracle on a remote HP minicomputer. The hardware information of the system is as follows:
The software information is as follows:
1. Download the correct Oracle Installation version
HP-UX can run on HP's own processor PA-RISC and Intel's Itanium (anteng) processor Oracle official site for HP-UX Oracle version has two:
? HP-UX PA-RISC (64-bits)
? HP-UX, Itanium
Two different processor types. Because the minicomputer processor is Itanium, so select the download version of The HP-UX Itanium Oracle:
? Hpia64_11gR2_database_1of2.zip
? Hpia64_11gr2_database204 f2.zip
2. Preparations
Ask for the following information about the minicomputer:
? IP
? Root Password
3. VPN connection
VPN is required for network connection. The following is how to establish a VPN connection on my XP machine:
? Create a new connection
? Next step: connect to the network in my workplace. Virtual Private Network. company name)
? Step 1. Select a VPN Server (enter the IP address or domain name you want to dial in ).
? Use the assigned user and password to dial up a VPN connection
After connecting to the VPN, other network connections will be poor, but you need to constantly check the information during installation,
So I quickly found a dormitory book for emergency purposes.
4. remote connection
The installation of Oracle software depends on OUI, so it is necessary to solve the problem of graphical interface to remote minicomputers. My own machine is XP. I searched the internet and most people used VNC to solve it. So first of all intend to use VNC, went to the realvnc official website, but the above only: VNC Free Edition for HP-UX 11/11 I (PA-RISC), not for Itanium, and Google half a day, it is said that it can also be used in Itanium, so ssh is installed on the minicomputer and VNC is not easy to use. It seems that VNC is not feasible. In an episode, Google should see the HP-UX have a command: aries, can be dynamic on the Itanium platform running under the simulated PA-RISC, but the results are always bad.
Xmanager is what we can see next. Now we go to the next one, and the installation is complete. Click Xstart and enter the following information.
Click run and you will see:
See the following xp ip Address:
Then set the xhost and DISPLAY, and then use the xclock test:
When I saw the appearance of a clock that I didn't understand, I was excited that I was so happy with myself.
