Processing Temp accounts in Windows

Source: Internet
Author: User

When using windows, the user name is displayed after logon to the system, but the system uses a temp user. A temp is generated in Documents and Settings, the Temporary Folder and desktop icon of the machine name are only displayed in All users, and All settings of the temp User will be lost after logon. You must reset them, but sometimes you can access the original user, and sometimes you will find that the desktop icon is re-created every time you log on to the system, and the original desktop settings cannot be displayed, save the document on the desktop before restart and disappear.

Here, I will share some of the solutions for the previous processing:

Method 1: use the registry to fix

This method is also applicable to Windows 7, but if you are using Windows XP, You need to restart another system administrator account.

1. Open drive C: \ Documents and Settings, open the user configuration folder, find the user's "desktop", "favorites", and "my Documents", and back up their data.

2. Back up the Registry file.

3. Open "start"/"run" and enter "regedit" to confirm. Open the registry and find the key value: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ ProfileList"

Registry name status 1 (the folder name has been modified): Under this file, check whether there are folders with the same name. If so, carefully check the key value "ProfileImagePath, if the specified path is correct at startup, it will be deleted incorrectly. A faulty file name is added after the file name. modify the name of the bak and restart the computer.

Registry name component Status 2 (key value tampered): view the "ProfileImagePath" content and delete the error. If not, modify the correct path. If there is a ProfileImagePath file with the same name, generally, you can change the correct name to bak, delete the error, modify the correct name back, and restart the machine.

4. If the system can be restarted properly, delete the Temp account configuration file under % SystemDrive % \ Users \ UserName.

Method 2: copy the system startup configuration

This method is only applicable to windows XP operating systems.

1. First, back up data on drive C.

2. Create a new system administrator User, restart the computer, and log on to the system as the User, open "my computer" properties-"advanced"-user configuration file "Settings"-select "Asiainfo \ NT account"-"copy"-"change"-"location" (if is the name of the computer selected locally, if it is the domain selected by the user)-enter the name of the object to be selected (for example, Administrator or Asiainfo \ NT account)-"Browse" (select the directory of the previous user name) -"OK": restart the computer.
