Visual Studio's experience in debugging is one of its biggest selling points, and even those most keen to criticize Microsoft's development tools have to admit this. Recently, Miguel de Icaza announced that the mono Team intends to use the same technology to improve the debugging of Mono applications on Linux.Program.
Visual Studio Debugger for mono consists of two modules. The first is the remote debugger host, which is similar to the one used by Windows/. NET and runs as a service. However, it is different from a Windows version that can only load running processes. You can also remotely start an application in a Windows version. After an application is started using a special plug-in of Visual Studio, It is uploaded to the Linux host in binary form and runs in the debugger.
Visual Studio Debugger for mono is now only an alpha version with limited functions. If you want to try it out, you must register it on the mono website and download the preview version.
