In the early days of computer development, the TELNET Protocol emerged when many clients were unable to run their programs independently due to low hardware configurations. It was a C/S mode, the client can log on to the high-configuration server through TELNET and run the program on the server. When the program is running, all the operations and storage are taught to the server. After the calculation, the server returns the results to the client, in this way, the program running can be completed when the client configuration is insufficient, and the running result is not slow.

Remote Desktop Connection is developed from TELNET. In general, it is a graphical TELNET. In the following section, we will introduce some TELNET related knowledge when using Remote Desktop Connection.

Speaking of Remote Desktop, many users think it was introduced from WIN2000 SERVER. In fact, we can see it in WIN98 or DOS. Remote Desktop is a TELNET-like technology developed from the TELNET protocol. Since the development of Microsoft's operating system, only the following three operating systems can use the Remote Desktop function, such as WINDOWS 2000 SERVER, windows xp, and WINDOWS 2003. The methods for enabling remote desktop vary among the three systems.

In WINDOWS, the PROFESSIONAL version cannot enable the Remote Desktop function for others to access, but the SERVER version can be enabled, but we need to install the corresponding WINDOWS Components. The method is as follows:

Step 1: Go to "start-> Settings-> Control Panel" in the taskbar and select "Add/delete programs ".
Step 2: Select "Add/delete WINDOWS Components" on the left ".
Step 3: The Add/delete WINDOWS component window will appear later. Select Terminal Service and click "Next" to install the component. Note that during the installation process, we need to insert the WINDOWS 2000SERVER system CD to the optical drive.
Step 4: restart the computer after installation. After restart, the Remote Desktop Connection function under WINDOWS 2000SERVER is installed.

The introduction of the Remote Desktop Connection function in Windows has been well received by many users. It is widely believed that the method to enable this function is too complex and that everyone cannot have a Windows Server CD when using it. Therefore, in XP and 2003 systems, Microsoft simplified the Remote Desktop enabling operation.
Step 1: Right-click my computer on the desktop and select "properties ".
Step 2: select the remote tag in the pop-up System Properties window.
Step 3: Find "Remote Desktop" in the remote tag and check "allow users to connect to this computer" to enable Remote Desktop Connection in XP.

The method for enabling WINDOWS2003 is similar to that of XP, and the operation steps are also simplified. The method is as follows:
Step 1: Right-click my computer on the desktop and select "properties ".
Step 2: select the remote tag in the pop-up System Properties window.
Step 3: Find "Remote Desktop" in the remote tag, check "allow user to connect to this computer", and then confirm to enable the Remote Desktop Connection function under 2003.

Required for remote connection

1. As the Remote Desktop Server, that is, the computer you plan to control)
It must be Windows Xp Professional Edition, and you need to enable remote desktop under the Remote tab of the System Properties dialog box, and also select all accounts that Allow Remote Desktop Connection. If the firewall is enabled on this computer, you may also need to set the firewall order system to use the Remote Desktop

2. As the Remote Desktop client, you plan to use it to control the computer on the server)
It can be any 32-bit Windows operating system. However, if the operating system is not Windows XP, you need to install the Remote Desktop client software on the client. The installation file of this software can be downloaded from the Microsoft website, you can also find it from the installation CD of Windows Xp. If IIS is installed on the server, you can also directly connect to the Remote Desktop in IE of Version 4.0 or later.

Iii. Connection
Both parties establish an account that can be accessed from the network remote desktop, such as administrator, add a password and then start-attachment-communication-Remote Desktop Connection. Enter the ip address of the other party in the Intranet, and enter the computer name) enter the account and password given to you by the other party, and then connect. In terms of network, at least the two computers should be able to connect directly. If either party is located inside the LAN or both sides belong to two different LAN, then according to the actual situation of the LAN, you may not be able to create a connection.

4. Others
If the connection fails, see Windows Help. It does not make sense to copy the text of a large segment here. In addition, if you encounter any problems, it is also the main method to improve your own level.

By default, Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection uses port 3389 on the server and remote client respectively. When configuring NAT port ing, you can map the Intranet port 3389 to port 6666 on the NAT server (or other unused values, in this way, when the remote client connects to port 6666, it will connect to port 3389 of the Intranet.

1. connect through XP Remote Desktop

Port ing is to map the port used by the remote control software on the Intranet to a port of the gateway, in this way, you can use the public IP address of the gateway and the mapped port number to remotely control the Intranet computer. Most vrouters and gateway software have port ing functions. You can also use some port ing software, such as WinRoute Pro. If you use the Windows XP shared connection method to share the Internet, it also has the port ing function. Next we will take the Remote Desktop that comes with Windows XP as an example to introduce how to set it.

Right-click the shared connection icon of the Gateway computer, select "properties", open the Connection Properties window, select "advanced", and click "Settings ", the "Advanced Settings" dialog box appears.

Note that there is a "Remote Desktop". If this option is selected, a "service settings" window will pop up. The port number and other settings are already set, we only need to add the Intranet IP address (for example, 192.168.1.3) on the controlled end, and click "OK" twice to set port ing for the Remote Desktop.
Enable remote control on the controlled end. This is disabled by default. Specifically, right-click the "my computer" icon and select "properties". In the displayed "System Properties" window, select "remote. Select "Allow Remote invitations from this computer" and "allow users to remotely connect to this computer", and click "select remote user" to select a user with remote control (the Administrator has control by default ), for remote control, you must set a password.

When remote control is required, click Start> all programs → accessories → communication → Remote Desktop Connection on the master computer to start Remote Desktop Connection; if the master computer is Windows 98 or another version of Windows, you can put the XP installation CD into the optical drive, on the automatic run page, click "execute other tasks> set Remote Desktop Connection" to install the Remote Desktop Connection Program.

After the Remote Desktop Connection is started, a window will appear. here we need to enter the public IP address of the Gateway (for example, 218.193.12.115, note that it is not the Intranet IP address of the gateway ), after the connection is successful, a window will pop up. You need to enter the user name and password and wait a moment for remote control.

2. Remote Assistance solution for family XP

Windows XP for Home Edition only supports remote assistance. The remote option only supports the option "Allow Remote invitations from this computer". If the controlled end is Windows XP for Home Edition, remote Desktop Connection cannot be used for remote control, but remote assistance can be used ".

First, set port ing on the controlled terminal according to the above method, and then click "Start> All Programs> Remote Assistance" to enable remote assistance, click "invite someone to help you> Save the invitation as a file (advanced)", enter the name, adjust the expiration time, set the password, and then save the invitation. The system will save the next file less than 1 kb, which records the connection information. However, it cannot be directly sent to the master end by Intranet users. We need to open it with notepad, you can see that there is a section in it that records the Intranet IP address (for example, 192.168.1.3: 3389), and change it to "gateway IP: External port number" (for example, 218.193.12.115: 3398, 3389 is the default port number for Windows XP Remote Control), and save.

We need to send the file to the master end by email within the expiration time, and tell him the password. The remote assistance will be automatically started when the master end opens the file, enter the password and connect to the controlled terminal. After the connection is successful, a remote assistance request window will appear on the controlled terminal. Click "yes" to agree to remote assistance. At this time, you can only view the screen of the controlled terminal, if you want to control the file, click "Get control". A window will appear at the control end requesting shared control. Click "yes" to confirm the control. You can also transfer files, after the remote control is completed, disconnect the connection. Windows XP Professional edition can also be remotely controlled using this method.

3. implement port ing through software

You can also use other remote control software to implement port ing. The following describes how to set up Winvnc, a widely used remote control software.
First, set port ing to open the "Advanced Settings" dialog box in the shared connection as described above. The settings of Winvnc are not in the list. Next, click "add ", in the displayed "service settings" dialog box, enter the service description (such as Winvnc), and then enter the Intranet IP address of the controlled end (such as 192.168.1.3 ), set "internal port number of this service" to the control port of Winvnc (5900 by default), and "external Port Number of this service" to the mapped port number (which can be obtained at will, it is recommended to be consistent with the internal port number), select "TCP" for the connection method, and set the port ing.

Winvnc now has a Chinese version. After downloading and installing it, start Winvnc automatically. The white VNC icon appears on the taskbar in the lower right corner. Right-click the icon and choose, select "feature (P)". The setting window (8) is displayed. Enter the verification password in "password. If you select "Enable Java Viewer (J)", you do not need to install Winvnc on the master end. You can directly use a browser that supports Java for control, it is best to check the "Remove desktop Wallpaper" option to speed up remote control. You can use the default option for other settings. After setting, click OK.
