Because the GPRS terminal is also relatively cheap and the charges are reasonable, it should be said that using GPRS to access the Internet is a more practical method. Currently, the actual Internet Access Effect of GPRS is similar to that of 56 Kbps Modem. The actual traffic Calculation of GPRS is generally 0.03 RMB/1 kb or 0.01 RMB/1 kb, and there is an unlimited traffic package of 200 RMB/month. GPRS does not calculate provincial roaming charges. This provides a possibility for users who want to stay online at any time. Because of the wide coverage of China Mobile's network, GPRS signals are available in all regions with China Mobile's signal, this ensures that users can access the Internet Anywhere. To enable the laptop to access the Internet through GPRS, there must be a corresponding GPRS terminal or module. Currently, there are mainly the following methods of GPRS terminal:
1. built-in GPRS module in the notebook. Using such a GPRS module notebook, you can directly access the Internet without using a GPRS mobile phone. For example, WinBook M9600, Fang Zhengyi, S2000, and TCL 7000G, but not all laptops are built in. Moreover, the built-in GPRS modules are expensive, so this wireless Internet access method is not common.
2. the GPRS Modem of the pcmcia card or the CF card. You only need to insert the SIM card into the corresponding SIM slot of the GPRS Modem, and install the driver and Dialup program, then you can dial up the Internet like a common Modem. However, the prices for such cards are relatively high, usually at more than 1000 yuan.
3. GPRS mobile phone. It is connected to a laptop for infrared wireless Internet access. That is, the mobile phone with GPRS is used as an external Modem to establish a GPRS dial-up connection. Currently, GPRS mobile phones that can provide wireless laptop Internet access mainly include Ericsson's T39, T68, T316, Sony Ericsson's T68IE, T618, T628, and feilepu's 820, the 3rd method is currently the most widely used wireless Internet access method, which is also the solution to be introduced in this article. In this solution, the following two conditions must be met:
The infrared reception and transmission functions of the notebook and mobile phone are normal. If the notebook's infrared interface is damaged, you can also purchase the comport infrared converter or USB port infrared converter, which is about-yuan. This method is also applicable to desktops, the desktop can also access the Internet wirelessly through an infrared GPRS mobile phone. The mobile phone used supports GPRS and activates the GPRS mobile Internet service in the corresponding telecommunications department.
This solution is the most cost-effective, because at present, laptops and mobile phones are equipped with infrared interfaces, and mobile phones supporting GPRS are also very common, so no additional hardware is required, you only need to direct the phone's infrared port to the laptop's infrared port to achieve infrared wireless Internet access. This infrared wireless Internet access solution has the following features:
1 ). low communication rate: The maximum bandwidth is 115.2 Kbps, but in fact only 20 or 30 Kbps). The connection speed is slightly lower than that of the 56 K Modem in the narrow band. Therefore, it can only be used for simple Internet applications, such as QQ chat, email sending and receiving, and simple web browsing.
2) The communication distance is short and the application is limited. This wireless transmission distance is less than 1 meter, and there are also restrictions on directionality, that is, only the infrared interfaces of mobile phones and laptops can be aligned with each other at a general interval of about 50cm ), normal communication is possible only when there is no large deviation.
3). High security. Because at the same time, it only allows two devices to connect, and the connection distance is very short, there cannot be a large deviation between the two infrared windows, therefore, others cannot secretly copy the data on your laptop.
The wireless Internet access solution of the GPRS mobile phone laptop is a bit like the built-in Modem installation. First, install the infrared interface driver and use the virtual COM to map to the infrared interface for dialing, of course, it does not directly dial through a Wired phone number line, but through a mobile phone. The above steps enable Wireless Internet access for GPRS mobile phone laptops. Using this method to access the Internet, the actual maximum network connection speed is still affected by the surrounding environment, which is slower than that of common Modem.
