After I change the path and reinstall Microsoft Visual Studio, when I add a component to a newly created Project, I always prompt that the template file cannot be found, the system prompts whether the template file path is the old installation path. After arduous deletion of various configuration information, the problem was finally solved. The following uses Visual Studio 11.0 (2012) as an example to describe the information deleted during this process for your reference:
1. Configuration File Information
The configuration files of Visual Studio are saved in the following three folders. You can delete or rename these folders to reset the configuration information:
% USERPROFILE % \ appdata \ Local \ Microsoft \ visualstudio \ 11.0% USERPROFILE % \ appdata \ roaming \ Microsoft \ visualstudio \ 11.0% USERPROFILE % \ Documents ents \ Visual Studio 2012
Note: I have fixed the problem after renaming the first two of the above folders. Therefore, if you only target the aforementioned problems, you may not need to perform subsequent operations.
2. Registry Information
Perform the following operations on the registry:
1) modify the registry "value" that contains "c: \ Program Files \ Microsoft Visual Studio 11" to the correct value or delete it. (Delete in most cases because the correct value already exists .)
2) Change the registry data that contains "C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft Visual Studio 11" to the correct value.
3) Delete the registry key that contains "C: | program files | Microsoft Visual Studio 11.
Note: For step 2nd, thousands of data items need to be modified. Therefore, we recommend that you export the corresponding high-basic registry branch first, in the text editing tool, replace the file and import it to the Registry.
3. Environment Variables
It has been confirmed that there is no information to be modified in the environment variable.
