Solution to Windows Shared Folder problem between Vm ubuntu11.04 and host

I recently installed ubuntu11.04 in a virtual machine on my PC. Based on previous experience, I installed the system and Installed VMware-tool again. Then, I can share a folder with windows after simple configuration, however, after installation, you cannot share folders with windows in the old version.

Finally, I found a solution on the Internet. As follows.

1. install Open-VM-dkms and enter sudo apt-Get install Open-VM-dkms in the terminal.
2. After the update is complete, enter sudo Vim/etc/fstab.

/Etc/fstab is a file that stores static information of the file system. After the system starts, it reads information from the file and mounts the specified file system to the specified directory.

3. Add the following statement to fstab:
. HOST: // MNT/HGFS vmhgfs ults, TTL = 5 0 0
4. Enter sudo reboot in the terminal.
Press the s key to skip Mount failure after restart
 
5. Enter Mount-A in the terminal.

6. Enter the/mnt/HGFS/directory to view the name of the shared folder. At this time, you can communicate with the host through the shared folder.
