Microsoft has given a solution that has shortened its duration due to Windows RT 8.1 upgrades
If you have a surface RT and upgraded your system to Windows RT 8.1, you must have noticed that the upgraded device is running for a shorter period of time. Microsoft also seems to be aware of the problem, now quietly bringing in a solution that hopes to maximize the battery power of the device.
Microsoft points out that users who upgrade their devices from Windows RT 8.1 Preview to Windows RT 8.1 will find a decrease in battery use time. The main reason for this phenomenon is that during the upgrade process, the power policy used by the wireless adapter has not been transferred; in other words, a vulnerability under this strategy can consume more electricity when the user is using the latest system, and when the device is connected to the base.
In order to solve this problem, the Microsoft Company has given the corresponding solution. Action steps are as follows:
The first step, from the right side of the screen slide into the menu bar, find "Search" and click (if the user is using the mouse, the icon to move to the lower right of the screen, also click "Search");
In the second step, enter the command prompt in search.
In the third step, open the context menu of the command prompt and click "Run";
The fourth step, in the User Account Control dialog box, select "OK";
Fifth step, enter Powercfg-setdcvalueindex scheme_current under Administrator:command prompt 19cbb8fa-5279-450e-9fac-8a3d5fedd0c1 12BBEBE6-58D6-4636-95BB-3217EF867C1A 3;
Sixth step, jump out of the new dialog box, and then enter Powercfg-setactive scheme_current.
The above mentioned problem is limited to surface RT equipment.
