Sybase ASE1252 (X) for RHEL5.4 32-bit installation document

A task is scheduled to install a sybase ASE 1252 for rhel5 environment, which requires 32-bit

I have scratched my head and never installed it! Later, I found the media on the Internet, but it was quite difficult to find the installation documentation. I found several seemingly incorrect ones. I summarized them and tested them and merged them into the following document.

Environment installed successfully !. The document is as follows.

 

1. Install the system

Note that the host name should be set to sybase (you can also set it after entering the system, but you can also set it as needed, but you need to change it later. If you are not sure, you can set it as my host name. The service name of sybase is the server name by default)

2. Add sybase users and create directories

Add a user with the username 'sybase 'to install, configure, and manage sybase/ase (recommended)

# Useradd sybase

Set the password and locate the user's home dir in the file system of the large disk space.

# Passwd sybase

Create the default installation directory of sybase

Mkdir/opt/sybase

3. Modify sybase Environment Variables

Vi/home/sybase/. bash_profile

Append one

ExportLD_POINTER_GUARD = 0

4. Installation Package

Rhel5 installation may not show the figure, you need to install the libXp-1.0.0-8.1.el5.i386.rpm

After installation, you can solve the problem of not plotting.

5. Install sybase

Upload media.

Here I will upload to/opt

My Installation Software Directory Name Is aseent1252linux321

Modify the owner of the entire directory

[Root @ sybase ASE-12_5] # chown-R sybase/opt

 

Switch sybase user

Su-sybase

Click next

 

Select the language type and then select I agree and click next

 

Select the sybase installation directory (default)
