The difference between QFN and QFP

QFN (Quad flat non-leaded package) four-side leadless flat pack . More known as LCC.

Ceramic QFN: Mostly LCC markers.

Plastic QFN is also known as plastic LCC, PCLC, P-LCC and so on.

QFP (quad flat package) four side pin flat pack . The pin is drawn from four sides of the gull Wing (L) type. The base material has three kinds of ceramics, metal and plastic.

Plastic QFP is the most popular multi-pin LSI package. Not only for microprocessor, door display and other digital logic LSI circuit, but also for VTR signal processing, audio signal processing and other analog LSI circuit. The maximum number of pins is 304.

In order to prevent the pin deformation, there are several improved QFP varieties.

BQFP: Four corners of the package with a tree-pointing cushion

GQFP: With resin protection ring covering the front of the pin

TPQFP: The test bump is set in the package body and is placed in a special fixture that prevents the pin from deforming.
