The Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) is a recovery environment that fixes common problems that fail to start the operating system. The Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) is the smallest Win32 operating system with limited services. Windows RE is built on the Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) and can be customized with additional drivers, languages, Windows PE optional components, and other troubleshooting and diagnostics tools. Windows RE is preloaded by default in Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 installations. This section describes troubleshooting using the Windows Recovery Environment.

L When the system does not load properly in two minutes (crash, unexpected shutdown, etc.)
