Undoubtedly, CNNIC's "one dollar" registration of national domain names will once again stimulate the investment boom of general domain names, and thus release the general domain name investment to the extreme, this will inevitably result in the idleness and waste of a large number of general domain name resources.

"Corn worms" need to be "unwrapped"
A general domain name is the identifier used to identify and locate computer hierarchies on the internet. It corresponds to an Internet Protocol (IP) address. A general domain name is like the meaning and value of an enterprise trademark for an institution, in addition, generic domain names are limited and unique, and can be easily circulated and traded, so that some of the universal domain names with commercial value are popular in the flash sales and selling, it also makes generic domain names a low-cost Internet investment product. After the localization in China, the general domain name has produced another subsidiary investment product-"Chinese website ".

At one time, there was a huge investment and speculative space in the general domain name and Chinese website fields, as a result, these two simple internet products have successively led to the rapid rise of China's HiChina and 3721 high quality internet companies. However, with the increasing awareness of domain name protection in Chinese enterprises and institutions, the market risk of preemptive registration and investment in general-purpose domain names and Chinese websites is growing, and a large number of domain name resources are idle, as a result, domain name hyping through rogue software to defraud and click on paid advertisements has become a street rat, and the once-hot "corn worm" is encountering the ceiling. Therefore, how to implement, cash-out, and even value-added existing generic domain names has become a top priority for "Corn worms.

Currently, Demand Media has acquired millions of general-purpose domain names. To a certain extent, it has activated a large number of general-purpose domain names that have been or are "pinned". Therefore, this emerging company is being favored by venture capitalists and has accepted a venture capital of $0.22 billion. Richard Rosenblat expects the company to go public through its IPO by the end of 2007 and is ambitious to reach a market value of $2008 by the middle of 2 billion.
