The Windows 8.1 API will provide support for POS devices

After the recent release of Windows 8.1 build 9374, we've seen a lot of positive improvements, including the addition of some new features. In Windows 8.1, users will have more customization choices for the start page, and the Search charm bar will appear in a more moderate manner, and the newly added kiosk mode can lock the device under a specific application.

Kiosk mode is an interesting aspect, perhaps implemented by a new, open API in Windows 8.1 systems. Foreign media have found that there are many APIs open to the new system related to POS (point-of-service, service point) devices, including from. NET to the WINRT API transfer part, can realize a variety of POS equipment control, such as barcode scanner, receipt printer, card reader, etc., are implemented under the Metro UI, which for enterprise users and businesses is a pretty good function.

Microsoft expects Windows 8.1 to provide a new POS (point-of-sales) experience for users under the touch interface, along with kiosk mode. Other APIs found in Windows 8.1 also include better VPN support, better support for smartcard authentication, extended USB peripherals support, and native scanner input, and, of course, enterprise users.

Reports from foreign media also point out that Window 8.1 also integrates the relevant geographic services APIs as well as namespaces for remote camera control. The Code Blue Windows System update is expected to be released later this year, when users will be able to use more sophisticated Windows new systems.
