To help users solve Windows Vista SP1 upgrade problems, Microsoft released a new Knowledge Base Article KB948343, explaining in detail why Vista SP1 cannot be found on Windows Update and how to deal with it, in the future, the Simplified Chinese version will be updated with strong guidance.
If neither Windows Update nor automatic Update can find Vista SP1, check if you have one of the following eight problems:
1. You are running Vista SP1.
2. The system language is not listed in the first version of Vista SP1.
3. Use the Windows SP update interception tool to disable automatic update.
4. Tried to install Vista SP1, but failed due to file or registry conflict.
5. hardware device drivers or device software are not compatible with Vista SP1.
6. I have installed the Vista SP1 test version, but have not uninstalled it.
7. You have used a third-party tool vLite to configure the system and deleted some system components required to upgrade Vista SP1.
8. Optional updates provided by Windows Update have been hidden, and these updates are the prerequisite for SP1 upgrade.
The corresponding solutions are as follows:
1. Check the system version and uninstall the installed Vista SP1 test version.
2. Vista SP1 is only available in five languages: English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. It will take a while for the other 31 languages.
3. Disable the Windows Update Package Interception tool. For details, refer to here.
