Import settings
Each type of asset this Unity supports have a set of Import Settings, which affect how the asset appears
or behaves. To view a asset ' s import settings, select the asset in the Project view. The Import settings
For this asset would appear in the Inspector. The options that is displayed'll vary depending on the type
of asset that is selected.
Each unity-supported resource type has some import settings that affect the display or behavior of the resource within unity. Select a resource in the Project window to view the resource's import settings in the Inspector panel. The options to be displayed will vary depending on the selected resource.
For example, the import settings for an image would allow you to choose whether it ' s imported as a texture,
A 2D sprite, or a normal map. The import settings for a FBX file allow you to adjust the scale, generate
Normals or lightmap coordinates, and split & trim animation clips defined in the file.
For example, an image import setting lets you choose to import as a map, a 2D sprite image, or a normal picture. FBX files Run as you adjust the scale of the model, or generate a generic adaptation model or a light map model. The FBX file also has a segmented animation section.

Click on the image resource in the Project window and the import settings will appear in the Inspector panel.
For other asset types, the import settings would look different. The various settings you see would relate to the
Type of asset selected. Here's an example of a Audio asset, with its related import settings shown in the
Inspector.

If you is developing a Cross-platform project, you can override the "default" settings and assign different
Import settings on a per-platform basis.
If you are developing a cross-platform project, you can override the default settings and set an import setting on each platform.
