Visual Studio 2012 does not provide upgrade tools for Visual Basic 6.0 applications and projects. To upgrade a project from Visual Basic 6.0 to Visual Basic in Visual Studio, you can use the upgrade tool provided with earlier versions of Visual Studio and then upgrade the project again in Visual Studio 2012.

Upgrade the Visual Basic 6.0 Project to the current version of Visual Basic
  1. Open Visual Basic 2008 quick release or Visual Studio 2008.

  2. Upgrade your project to the 2008 format. For more information, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink? Linkid = 146771 (upgraded from Visual Basic 6.0 ).

  3. Disable Visual Basic 2008 quick release or Visual Studio 2008.

  4. Start Visual Studio 2012.

  5. Use Visual Studio to upgrade your project. For more information, see How to: Upgrade the project (http://msdn.microsoft.com/zh-cn/library/ms185327.aspx) created in earlier versions of Visual Studio ).

Note: Visual Studio 2013 is compatible with 2012
