"Social design" self (self) section-Welcome (Welcome area)
Issue Overview (Problem Summary)
For registered users of a service (web site), a welcome Area (the wizard) is needed to tell the user what they can do on the site and how to start.
Example (Example)
Take the new user welcome area on Tumblr.com as an example
When to use (using when)
1. When the new registered users first visit the website;
2. Users need to understand the use of the site process and the importance of the function of the time;
Solution Approach (Solution)
Flickr.com's welcome message will be sent to the user's Flickr station letter inbox.
1. Warmly welcome the new users of the website: after the registration of new users, show a special welcome window or send a special site to introduce important features of the mail to the user. Consider sending a welcome message in addition to a wizard that allows users to quickly understand the features of a Web site. It is best to enable users to easily remove the welcome area to use the site's full functional features.
2. Treat your new users like guests at home: if possible, welcome them in person and greet them at intervals without disturbing them.
Logical basis (rationale)
Provide a welcome area for new users of the site or use a guide, similar to an orientation meeting for new hires or freshmen, or a visit to your home with friends who have first visited your home. The more you welcome new users in an approachable way, the more comfortable they feel, and the more they are willing to spend more time on your site.
