VS TFS (Team Explorer)

Team Foundation Server (TFS) is Microsoft's Group Explorer, which fits perfectly with vs.

TFS has a fee version and a free version, for a small team of about 5 people, free versions are sufficient.

TFS is supported by SQL Server, so installing TFS requires that you install SQL Server, which has no prior requirements, typically installs SQL Server, installs TFS, and configures it directly after installation.

The installation of both is the default, the normal way to install, but in the TFS2015 version, SQL Server must use more than 2012 version, preferably 2014 version.

After two software has been installed, the TFS Manager opens, the configuration center pops up, the full server is selected, and the Start wizard below is started.

Select "Use an existing SQL Server instance" when you select the database, and the server name of SQL Servers appears, and if this is the case, you cannot use the. or "localhost" represents a native instance, usually represented by the full computer name.

There may be a problem with the SQL Server version when you configure it, and if you are upgrading, just click on it. If an exclamation point is not used in the configuration, it is usually the SQL Server version problem with an exclamation mark, and if there is an error, the problem will be found.

Make sure that SQL Server services are turned on when you configure them, or you will get an error. Each time you use the server to turn on, or can not connect.

Once the configuration is complete, you can start using the

Open vs, select Team, click Connect to Team Project

Pop up the following picture, the first red show is localhost, that is, this machine, that is, the computer as a server, you can directly connect.

You can also rename a server, click the ZIP Server button, click Add, and rename a name for your computer as the server. And then connect and then create it.

If you are connecting to another server, you can set up a local area network, and then enter the URL on the line (the URL is the notification URL in TFS Manager), or the IP address of the data server directly.

Then build a project just as you would a new project, but click on a new team project instead of a new one, and then the team project is on this server (that is, your computer).

In Solution Manager, right-click the project you want to upload (usually a new project), select Source Control, add the solution to code management, select the first, TFS version control, then select the project team you want to add to, the subordinate folder, and so on, and then determine. At this point you can see a plus sign on the left side of the project proposal that the Representative has added, but has not yet moved into the code. Again right key items, you can see the source control subordinate options have been changed, click to move in, the completion of the code uploaded to the server.

Click on the view, other Windows, source Control Explorer, you can see the project file just moved in. Right-click on the file you want to check out (or download), and you can see "Get the latest version" and then "Check out".

If your computer is a server, remember to check out the path and the server path to be set to inconsistent, otherwise you will be your computer's client and service side confused.

When you want to delete a project or file, directly in the source Control Explorer right to delete the line, the file will not disappear, but it is preceded by a red X, the document will be deleted once again, the document disappears, it is deleted.
