· The installer may still run in the background.It may take up to two hours to install Windows 8.1. If you have been waiting for two hours, restart your computer to check whether the Windows welcome screen is displayed.
·Your computer may have incompatible hardware or drivers.If you have not completed the upgrade assistant, see the Windows Compatibility Center to learn about all known hardware or driver incompatibility issues. Disconnect all unwanted external hardware connections from your computer, and then re-run the Windows 8.1 installer.
·There may be software on your computer that prevents the upgrade.If the anti-virus software has been installed, you may need to uninstall the software before upgrading to Windows 8.1. We recommend that you use the deletion tool provided by the software manufacturer (if available ). If you are using encryption software, you may need to suspend the software before upgrading it.
·The installation media may be faulty.For the best results, install it directly from the Windows 8.1 installer. However, if you want to create an installation medium to install Windows 8.1, we recommend that you use a U disk instead of a DVD. If you need or want to use a DVD, select a slower write speed when burning the DVD. The slower the write speed, the higher the chance of success in the burning process.
