Why 1byte=8bit

Byte is the meaning of the byte, and the bytes are represented by the standard ASCII code inside the earlier computer
At the time, it was determined that there were at most 128 characters that needed to be represented (then IBM's standard, which is now generally 255),

Using the binary 0 and one represents the need for 7 bits, i.e. 7bit
In addition, for security reasons, the ASCII code also needs to add a parity more difficult bit.
