How to set up a virtual directory in Serv-u
If there is a directory named Lovehina under the E disk, there is also a directory named Lovehina under the F disk. So how do you make it possible for a user with the same account to access both directories at the same time?
We can use the "virtual path mapping" feature in serv-u to solve this problem by using the following methods:
One, under Domain settings, in general, select Add
Second, in "Step One" select the physical path of the directory to be mapped, in this case "F:lovehina"
Third, in "Step Two" to select the physical path mapped to the directory, in this case, "%home%" (recommended value)
Four, in the "step three" to give the virtual directory a name. This does not matter, in this case "LOVEHINA03"
Five, so we have set up a virtual directory mapping, we can see in the virtual directory of some property values.
Six, now just finished half of the operation, we also need to do some permissions on the changes before you can let the people who log on to your FTP to see this virtual directory.
Under Domains, select an account in users, and then in directory Access under that account, select Add
In the path access rule, fill in the physical path of the virtual directory that is already mapped.
After eight, then set some relevant permissions on the directory .... Do not forget to save your settings after setting it up.
