After you log on to Windows, you should have the desktop loaded. In the upper-left corner of the lower screen, click the Start button. A vertical menu will pop up.
The right to pop up on the Start menu, there are many commonly used items. The figure for ' Control Panel ' is one of the items.
Click on the "Control Panel" option on the Start menu.
The control Panel will display all available settings for loading. You will see that we highlight a "display" icon in the screen.
Double-click the display icon with your mouse.
The Display Properties window appears.

By default, the Windows XP screen saver chooses it if there is no pixel movement (no one) on the screen.
You see a preview monitor that displays a screen saver that looks like.
If you click the "Screen saver" drop-down box that is currently read by Windows XP, you will see a list of available screen savers. Click the screen saver that you want to use.
You will find that the selected screen saver will be previewed in the preview monitor.
You can select the amount of time that will wait before Windows XP starts screen saver in the Screen saver drop-down box. Windows XP defaults to 10 minutes. Use the small or down arrows to adjust the time in minutes.
You'll also see a check box asking if you want to "restore, show welcome screen." This records the computer as it assumes you are away from your desk. If you are not logged off your computer is more secure.
Once you have selected the Screen saver option, click the OK button to close the Display Properties window.
